LAB

ABOUT US
We develop leaders working to end structural racism in Detroit.
We are shifting our fellows’ baseline understanding of racial equity and supporting their journey toward co-liberation.
Our fellows take action by creating innovative projects so that racial equity leaders can turn to these resources and rely on each other as co-liberators.
As a lab space, we explore personal and ancestral connections to liberation, ask bold questions in challenging racism, and discover our roles in creating change.

HOW WE WORK
Our Racial Equity Fellowship is a year-long program for emerging and experienced leaders with a deep commitment to racial equity.
We are co-creating a multiracial and multigenerational network of racial equity leaders. Our role is to equip leaders with tools to disrupt racism and create equitable alternatives together.
In our sessions, we work on:

Shared Understanding
We build a shared understanding of racial equity from a personal to structural lens.

Skills & Tools
We develop the skills and tools needed to disrupt racism and create equitable alternatives.

Relationships
We co-create a space to deepen relationships within a multiracial and multigenerational network of racial equity leaders.
OUR 2026 FELLOWS
Our Racial Equity Fellowship is multiracial and multigenerational. Fellows come from many areas of expertise — whether that's in arts and media, community development, education, environment, food security, health care, housing, and more.
